We highly recommend Mark and Cheryl Reno to anyone looking for a breeder that truly loves Basset Hounds. From day one, they made us feel very comfortable. They were helpful and very informative with all of our questions and concerns. Buying anything online these days can be a little unsettling, but we knew immediately after speaking with the Renos’ that they truly loved their dogs and wanted to make sure they were all placed in good homes. We cannot thank them enough for all of their encouraging emails and the many pictures that they sent our family during our wait to receive Monty. Having a puppy shipped from Texas to Connecticut was a new experience for us also and when we expressed concern for the puppy’s safety, they were there to calm our nerves and to assure us that they would take every precaution to make sure he had a safe arrival. Our puppy did arrive safely, along with a packet from the Renos’ with all the necessary paperwork and a letter on how to care for our new puppy taped to the top of his crate. It was a comfort to be able to continue to provide proper care as per the Reno’s instructions.

     Monty has adapted very well and quickly made himself very comfortable in our family. He is a strong, healthy puppy with a wonderful personality. He is an absolute joy! I would just like to say that I searched and searched for a bloodhound puppy that had the head of a 2 year old and my search ended when I saw not just Diesel, but all of your recent puppies. He is everything and more than I expected him to be. I was real particular with what I was looking for and when we first saw him, it was indescribable. We take him everywhere we go and he literally stops people in their tracks. I’m confident that if given the chance, he could be a great show dog. I just wanted to let you know how happy I am with “Ripley”.  I’ve handled and trained Bloodhounds in Law Enforcement for approximately 25 years.  Last year I searched all over the country for months looking for a particular Bloodhound before finding Ripley. She’s everything I wanted plus.  She was very easy to train and eager to learn.

I wanted to update you on how Ripley’s training is coming along. She’s now a part of a New Jersey Search & Rescue team and is currently working 4-5 hour old trails 2 miles long.  Enclosed are some photographs of a seminar at Cape Cod, Massachusetts. I’ve gotten a number of compliments from Police Officers and Bloodhound handlers from all over the country on Ripley and her trailing ability.

Again, I would like to thank you for the great pup.  I purchased “Stars” from you all and she has brought great joy to our family and a lot of excitement to our lives. Her color seems to change weekly, so when she is grown I can hardly wait to see her final color.  I have been given so many compliments on her because of her unusual coloring.

Her temperament is great and very calm for a pup.  At first I thought she could not bark, then I got the vacuum out and she actually barked! And, of course, this Christmas has been very exciting!
